Merry Christmas from our family to yours! We hope this letter finds all of our family and friends happy, healthy, and blessed by this Christmas season. Our family has had an amazing 2019 filled with exciting trips and equally exciting news and events!

Highlights of our year:

~ Marie graduated in May from Liberty University, Magnum Cum Laude, and secured an IT Software Engineer job at shipyard. She is currently on track to move out to a new apartment complex in early 2020 and to return to school for her Masters degree.

~ Madison officially graduated high school in June and is attending the University of Oklahoma on a 4yr-Air Force ROTC scholarship. She is excelling in her Physics major and thriving in college life, including making the Dean's List for first semester.

~ Mikayla is a Junior in high school and striving to secure a collegiate scholarship to compete college gymnastics. She has not narrowed down a school quite yet, but we are prayerful that will come within the next few months or at least by signing day November 2020. She is competing her third year as a Level 10 and working hard to attend JO Nationals in WA State, her birthplace, in 2020.

~ Montana is an official teenager and in 7th grade and has really stepped up to be my right-hand girl since Madison left. She is doing great in school as well, when she wants to. Yes, I have another Madison on my hands, but this time I am prepared and know how to challenge Montana so she is most successful and challenged. She is still playing softball with the local Christian school team and loving it. Montana also enjoys drawing and creating and reading.

~ McKenzie is in 4th grade and doing great! Math and Science are her two favorite subjects with spelling being her least favorite. We have officially gone Gluten Free for her and it seems to be helping curb the side effects that she experiences from her diagnosis last year of Gastroparesis ~ delayed stomach emptying. She has grown about 2.5 inches since last December so this is great progress. This year she is competing Level 7 for gymnastics.

~ Micah is in Kindergarten and officially a beginning reader! While school is not his favorite thing to do, I have figured out what works best to complete his daily lessons while leaving plenty of time for play with his beloved cars and action figures. Micah joined Cub Scout Lions in September and plays Shetland baseball in the Fall and Spring. Next year he wants to try wrestling, oh my!

~ Mr. M has been home for since mid-November and we are all enjoying this time together before he heads back to Mississippi. He has just a few short months before he returns back to VA permanently for his next set of orders, yay! He has picked up some new hobbies while away including fishing/crabbing and flying drones with his friends.

~ I am busy holding down the fort, managing the house and educating the kids with my trusty color-coded planner(s) not far from my side. For 2020 I am pursuing my journey to complete my Court Reporting studies to become a freelance Stenographer. I actually started reviewing my Theory in November and I am writing cleanly at 40 WPM. I hope to gain a scholarship to an online school in March/April when I am fully ready to start speed building.

~ We added a new four-legged family member when Montana got a Russian Blue kitty in early December. She finally decided to name her Smokie even though I think she looks more like a Maggie. Smokie is a great addition to our family, everyone just loves her! Plus, she doesn't aggravate Marie's allergies so that is a huge plus. Max and Mollie are doing great as well. They are full of energy and love to play, especially with Micah.

Who is who?

6yr old Madison

I can't believe we are blazing through October already! I wanted to write a quick message to all my new friends here on the blog, Facebook and Instagram. If you know me in real life you might be wondering why my children are called by different names online.

First off, you are not going crazy! I do call my children all by their middle names, with the exception of Micah. His middle name is not Micah but we have a "M" thing going on and I would confuse you even more so we just stick with Micah.

Why, you ask?

Well, way back in 2008 when I started this little blog of mine I had four little girls and I wanted to give them some privacy as I began documenting our lives on the world wide web. The thing is, we have called our children by their middle names since they were babies. They answer to my and my husbands voice when we call them by their middle names out in public etc. I guess you could say it is for safety in a sense.

Now, not to throw you for a loop but I have stopped referring to my oldest as Marie on Instagram and Facebook, as she is now a {young} adult. I still from time to time ~~brag~~ talk about her and when I do I use her real name. However, I do call her Marie on the blog because it's just easier. My second oldest, is nearing adulthood, but I will continue to refer to her as Madison for a few more years. Well, with the exception of when I tag her in a facebook post. ;-)

So, next time you are reading a post or a status update from me and wondering just who is who, check back on the blog or ask. Like many parents, I love chatting about my kiddos and their individual adventures through this thing we call life.

Autumn Bucket List ~ 52 Lists

Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year! The changing leaves, the cooler weather, and FOOTBALL {Go Broncos} !

Today I am jumping into list making with Beautyfull Slow. Normally, you would make a list each week for a total of 52 lists, but I am joining late and jumping right in. Here’s my list of things I would like to do this year:

~ a trip to the mountains with my hubby

~ visit the state fair

~ read more for myself

~ throw two birthday parties, one for Montana and one for Madison

~ visit a farm and go on a hay ride

~ get back on bedtime schedule for kids

~ set school hours / schedule

~ update our family pictures

~ go to the zoo

~ start family movie nights back up

Summer Vacation 2016 ~ Onslow Beach Resort

We spent a glorious week at Onslow Beach on Camp Lejeune this past week! It was a much needed vacation from all the running and busyness of life.

Initially, we were going to board our dogs, Max & Mollie but the kennel wanted $$$$. More than I was willing to pay for a week. Not to mention the fact that Max kind of went a little crazy the last time he came home from there earlier this year during travel season. So, the people at the resort were able to move us to a pet friendly Osprey that was perfect!

The house we stayed in was awesome! It was a handicap accessible unit so it had a wrap around ramp that is great for two year olds who need to run out some energy. Since it was handicap accessible it also had the stand up shower in the bathroom which was so much easier to shower the little's after spending the day in the sand.

The beach was just what we needed. Relaxing yet fun! The kids had a blast hunting ghost crabs and finding fossilized shark teeth. They actually caught a ghost crab one night and they were convinced they were bringing it home as a pet. They even went as far as researching how to take care of it. Sadly it died in captivity.

Mikayla is a shark teeth finding guru! She could spot them so easily and pluck them out of the sand. I think she found 30+ shark teeth. I found 0, LOL! One of the other guests found a huge one, the size of his palm, but we were not so lucky.

Overall, we had a relaxing week on the surf and sand and watching the last of the Summer Olympics at night. We all look forward to going back next year!

My family

Hi there! Today I wanted to share a little bit about each of the kids in my family who you read about on this blog. Mr. M and I are blessed to be the parents of 6 awesome kids, here's a little more about them.

Marie is the one who made us parents. She is a typical first born child and has a great work ethic. Marie is our first graduate of A Stable Beginning Christian Academy and is currently a Freshman attending Liberty University on partial academic scholarship. She is majoring in Graphic Design, not quite sure what her focus will be yet though. She enjoys drawing and the arts so this is the perfect major for her. Her first semester of school she earned a spot on the Dean's List and received 5 A's and 1 B {which technically is an A, but we won't go there, LOL}.

Madison is our quiet, laid back second born. She is kind of a "go with the flow" girl, always has been. She enjoys everything space and has her sights on being an Air Force Space Officer. Currently she is in the 9th grade and working on publishing her novel she wrote last year, The Last Drifters. Madison loves being outside and in nature. Some of her favorite past times include collecting marbles, learning about new science theories, stargazing and reading EVERYTHING she can get her hands on. In her free time she enjoys playing softball and has her hopes on making the Varsity team at one of the local private schools this spring.

Mikayla is our resident gymnast who is very competitive at all things. She is currently in the 7th grade and is apart of the homeschool training group with her gym. This child loves everything gymnastics, period. She dreams of competing in college as a gymnast, yet she has not narrowed down a school of choice. Personally her dad and I would love to see her go on to compete with the US Air Force team, but we will see. She tells me her favorite subject is lunch {LOL} yet she excels in math and science, but does not really enjoy doing those subjects, if that makes sense. Even though she just turned an official teenager, she still loves to just play with her siblings or by herself. I love that she is still a kid at heart.

Montana our fourth daughter who is a joy to have around is in the 3rd grade. She is always saying something witty or telling us facts about lions, cheetahs and jaguars. She dreams of being a big cat vet when she is older. I think she has a pretty good jump start since her brain is filled with all sorts of facts about each animal. She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES everything and anything Lion King. Like she has watched the movie so many times she could probably recite the lines herself. She is also a softball player who normally plays right field. During the off season she has been practicing hard to have a shot at pitching a few games.

McKenzie girl is our youngest daughter. She is a spit fire and even though she is tiny she will speak her mind and stand up for herself. This year she is in her official Kindergarten year and is excelling with reading and math. She loves to learn and really enjoys her Explode the Code books. As a member of the Pre-Team gymnastics team and Pre-Tops team she has her sights on being a competitive gymnast next year just like big sister Mikayla. I frequently have to tell her to keep her feet on the floor as she seems to not be able to get enough gymnastics. Her sense of fashion is something to see now that I have allowed her to pick out her own clothes during the week.

Micah holds the official title of baby boy in this house. With five older sisters to dote on him, all of his needs are met swiftly. At 20 months he has just started talking in two word sentences. He can now says all of his sisters names and loudly. During school hours he loves to sit at his desk and work on coloring pages, looking at books, or building with blocks. Micah is all boy and keeps us all on our toes. He loves to throw his balls and swing his bat. In fact, he just started making contact with the ball when it is tossed to him. I think we may have another ball player on our hands. Daddy wants him to wrestle and play football like he did, so we will see.

Snapshots ~ 365 days of us…{18/98}

We were supposed to have pictures today at the squadron in front of a jet, but the day was so busy with ball games and practices we didn’t make it. So, I broke out the trusty camera and snapped some photos of us. Getting 8 people looking at the camera is hard work but I think the group shot turned out pretty good.

I love all the individual shots of the girls and Micah. These shots really show their unique individual personalities and my babies are growing up right before my eyes!
