Hans Bluedorn Brings us Fallacy Detective and Archer & Zowie
Morning friends! Today I am pleased to share the new book, Archer and Zowie, from Hans Bluedorn. This new book is written by the same company that has written the ever popular book, The Fallacy Detective. We always love when we can add a new book to our shelves. Let me tell you a little more about it.

Archer and Zowie tells the story of best friends by the same name who are more different than alike. Completely by chance the pair figures out that Archer’s microwave can transport them, order sandwhiches, and can mash up and chew the universe in a matter of seconds. Throw in some dark matter, babysitters, and giant penguin aliens and you have an exciting science fiction adventure that the pair try to survive to return home.
The book is a paperback book with 233 pages sprinkled with whimsical black and white illustrations drawn by Mr. Bluedorn himshelf. The book is written in a dialogue format which made it difficult to read aloud to McKenzie and Micah. Instead I had McKenzie, my 6th grader, read it independently. Micah was interested in the story too as I had started to read it aloud to both of them, so he would peak over her shoulder to see the pictures inside.

The cover of the book and the description really drew us to wanting to read the story. However, it was a little bit too much for us in the format it is written in. McKenzie enjoyed the overall premise of the story, but it was a little hard to follow at points. She says she would enjoy it more if it were written like a normal story.

Bottom line, we will be making room for this book on our bookshelves. I hope to have Micah read this book in a few years to see if he enjoys it. I would recommend it for middle schoolers and up. But don’t just take my word for it! Some of my CrewMates also reviewed Archer and Zowie as well as the Fallacy Detective. So be sure to click the banner below to read their thoughts.
