Beach Day

We spent the day at the beach last week with a great bunch of friends. Our homeschool Girl Scout troop had the end of the year party at one of the local beaches. The girls were literally counting down the days. Each morning I would hear "only x days until the BEACH!!!"

To say they were excited would be an understatement. The weather was perfect, not too hot and just a slight breeze, and from what the girls tell me the water was fabulous! They had plans of frolicking in the waves, building sand castles, and just soaking up the sand with their friends.

And they did!

McKenzie wanted nothing, and I mean nothing to do with the sand or the beach. She was not a happy camper that day due to teething pain. But she does look so cute in her bathing suit.

Hopefully by August when we take our family vacation to The Outer Banks, she will have a new found appreciation for the beach.

McKenzie tries so hard to keep up with her sisters. She watches their every move, taking it all in. At 9.5 months she is not going to let anything slow her down. I just love this picture, she is on her tippy toes trying so hard to peak out the window to see her sisters outside.

Birdies

To the girls surprise we have a family of birds that have taken up residence in one of our trees in the front yard. We climbed the ladder with our neighborhood friends and spied on the little eggs, while the Momma bird was away. a few weeks later we now have 2 cute and furry baby birds to watch...at least until they get big and fly away. Yipeee!!! I was chosen to be apart of The Old Schoolhouse Homeschool Crew for the 2010-2011 voyage. I will get the chance to review some great products and meet some great bloggers along the way. I can't wait to set sail!!!
